The TulleTribe is a community for females everywhere to express their strength, vulnerability, femininity, and whatever they want! The TulleTribe has taken beautiful, sophisticated skirts and transformed them into a symbol of feminine strength—charging women to express themselves, take ownership of their stories and create the life they’ve always wanted.
The TulleTribe started from a project Silvana Favaretto created for herself, as an intention to embrace her childlike qualities of playfulness, confidence, spontaneity, and fearlessness.
After seeing a group of young girls twirling around town in a whimsical and carefree way, Silvana Favaretto found herself wondering what had happen to the bold little girl she once was. She realized she had been mired by other people’s expectations and demands about who she should be and needed to chisel away at the false narratives that impeded her true nature.
Determined to rediscover her true self, she set out to wear tulle skirts every day for 100 days and to document her journey on Instagram.
The project began as a way for Favaretto to push through society’s expectations of what a woman should be, say and wear. What she didn’t anticipate were the freedom and possibilities that flooded in once she began her experiment. The positive change was immediate: she felt happy, vulnerable, connected, and powerful. The mask she had been taught to wear to fit in as an adult had been stripped away and what was left was her brilliant, beautiful, truest self.
Her experiment sparked conversations with people who were curious and intrigued by her bold statement. She began to realize that standing out in your own skin isn’t a fault—it’s an aspiration.
Realizing the powerful impact reclaiming her bold had on her own life, she wanted to find a way to do it on a broader scale.
After her 100 day experiment, Favaretto founded the tulle project, encouraging women to embrace the bold girl inside—just as she is— and to stop hiding away the best parts of themselves. Her beautiful, six-layer tulle skirts became a symbol for confidence, assertiveness, and feminine strength.
The sophisticated layered skirts symbolically inspire women to take the layers of false narratives in their lives and repurpose them into their greatest assets.
Women helping women embrace their true selves is what the TulleTribe is all about. By sharing her own story, Silvana has inspired other women to step up, reclaim their narratives, and build the lives they want. Together, Silvana and the women she has built deep and lasting relationships with, have formed a community known as the #tulletribe.
This group of women displays emotions, vulnerability, and femininity unabashedly. The message is clear: women should be free to speak up, engage, share their stories, take risks, and BE BOLD.
The TulleTribe flourishes as a community of like-minded women connecting deeply with each other, taking risks, and being bold.
